Feeling complete

On November 7th, 2000, I stayed up all night watching the U.S. Presidential Election results on CNN. I never got to say it then, but I'm glad I get to say it now...

GORE WINS!

Pauvre Canada

It has begun.

Mr. Charest, if I lived in Quebec (which will be the case in six months or so) I would vote for you. Looking at the options currently available, I believe you are the best choice for la belle province. But on this issue, I truly, completely, vociferously, earnestly, unequivocally, passionately and profoundly - but always respectfully - disagree with you.

We need Rae

Tom Axworthy makes the point here, and I agree with him 100%.

As I've always said, experience counts. Even though he won't be our leader, it's become increasingly clear that we need Bob Rae in Parliament. Why? Well, he is probably the most experienced person in Canada in dealing with minority government situations. We're seeing the Prime Minister play a lot of games in the House - on Kyoto, on judges, on fiscal issues, on national unity. His games are orchestrated. So, too, must be our responses. Having "officially" brought down two Conservative minority governments in the past, Bob Rae can offer significant insight in this regard, so that things like this don't happen.

By George!

This story makes me smile for so many reasons.

Congratulations to the Deputy Premier.

Go Bears!

I'm not a big football fan. Every year, I pick my Super Bowl team on a whim. I normally base my choice on which team has the coolest logo or the nicest jersey. Sure, it's arbitrary, but how else am I supposed to judge?

This year, I'm rooting for Chicago over Indiana. The reason is simple. As a proud Liberal, I just can't bring myself to back a team led by someone named "P. Manning".

Things that make you go "hmmm"

An astute reader pointed something out to me...

If, as CTV.ca reports, Stephen Harper is no fan of the Super Bowl, does this mean he feels his own anti-Dion attack ads are not worth watching?

Maybe he's onto something...

Wait till George W. hears about this...

Courtesy of CTV: Prime minister is no fan of NFL and Super Bowl.

Well I'll be! Blatant anti-Americanism! What impact will this have on Canada-US relations? Canadians must demand answers!
